Viper R/C Solutions Inc. was in need of an entry level racing system designed in a specific price range. Designed from the ground up from months of product research and testing the Viper R/C Copperhead system was released to the public Jan 2012.
The Copperhead product line was a new area for Viper R/C. With the technology jump the past ten years has opened the door for new off road vehicle designs. Motor selection was a problem with the release of new heavier short course trucks. The smaller motors designed for two wheel drive vehicles was the only available option to power the new 4wd class vehicles.

One of the best selling 550 sized motors of the time, the VX4 and VX4R motor line was developed to help improve performance of R/C Pro4 short course trucks. The industry had limited motor options for a new class of heavier trucks which put strains on the current line of smaller less efficient 540 sized motors.
Months of product testing and product research leads to the design of a 4 pole neodymium magnet motor. Myself and Viper R/C helped pioneer the 4 pole R/C motor design and provided a wide range of motor options for the Pro4 class.

With the use of Bluetooth V4 the user can air interface with their speed control unit which allow users to manipulate changes to the speed control unit through ISM band and their Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth was a clear choice due to chip size, power consumption, cost and user access to Bluetooth enabled devices.
User Interface was designed for Android platform and was designed to be a compact version of the PC Interface Viper VLink which is used to edit, update, share and connect your speed control to a computer. Users are able to make changes on the fly through the use of their phone wirelessly without having to head back to the workbench for wired edits. This reduces the time a users is editing speed control settings and more time they have to practice.
The user’s driving run is logged into the Viper Link program, giving the ability to go back through the log file and check on live performance. Also with the use of wireless networks at a racing facility can be used to increase connection range for live monitoring without having to worry about connection issues when vehicle is in out of Bluetooth range. Users have the ability to share profiles and speed control settings wirelessly with other Viper speed control owners with the use of Bluetooth.
